We are pleased to introduce Monti. He is an 11 month old purebred Old English Sheepdog, who came to us as an owner surrender. Monti is your typical large breed puppy that is still learning appropriate manners especially for his big size! He has good dog manners, is respectful of more dominant dogs, and shows appropriate play skills. He is fearful of some noises and new experiences which make him feel insecure but recovers quickly with good leadership he can follow. Monti needs a structured home and an adopter that is consistent with his training, as he is still very much a puppy, Monti responds well to structure and routine. Monti has been around a cat and he wants to play with him, however in his foster home there are multiple baby gates and the cat has the opportunity to leave the situation any time he wants, however due to Monti's size we feel that cats in the home wouldn't be the best option for Monti. Monti needs fully secure fenced in yard, where he can run and play and constructively burn off his puppy energy, and would love another large or XL friend to play with, or an extremely active person who will take him on long walks multiple times per day, hiking or running. He is good with children that are steady on their feet, we are recommending a home with out babies or toddlers, as Monti is a big bouncing baby himself and he may unintentionally hurt little ones. Monti is currently being crate trained and working on his leash manners. Monti is housebroken. Large breed dog experience is required for potential adopters.
