:Yawn: Oh, hello there. I’m Eli. I’m an older gentleman who found my way into the loving arms of Buffalo Pug and Small Breed Rescue after my original owner fell very ill. I was being kept outdoors in a kennel when a good samaritan stepped in to rescue me. I was turned over to BPSBR when I developed a cough, and my rescuer felt I needed more help than what she was able to offer me. On a snowy day in November, I made my way to my foster home in Corning. My cough cleared up with antibiotics and I underwent a necessary dental with multiple extractions. I’ve lost some L-B’s and with a healthy diet, my ears have cleared up. With eye drops (life-long), my dry eye is well-managed. It was passed onto my foster mom that I was thought to be thirteen years old, but nobody can believe it, including the veterinary technician who reviewed my bloodwork. It’s perfect! While I have a few happy hairs, my face is much darker than my 13-year-old foster brother, Max. My eyes aren’t as clear as they used to be and I walk with a certain swag, but it doesn’t slow me down. I’m trying hard to remember appropriate bathroom manners, and as long as I’m strongly encouraged to go outside every couple of hours, I don’t have accidents. My ideal family would allow me to nap on the couch next to them. I’m able to climb the pet stairs to the couch in my foster home, and love that freedom! I would enjoy a short, leisurely walk around the block here and there, but by no means am I up for a 5K or hike up a high peak. I get along well with everyone in my foster home and look forward to perhaps meeting a family I can call my very own. I’m a happy boy who gets excited for meal time and treats. I love people and the belly rubs they give me. Pug people will love my wrinkle-goodness and likeness to a loaf of bread. I know there’s a pug person out there who loves senior guys like me as much as my foster mom does. Until then, I’ll be napping. :ZZZZzzzsnortzzzz:
