My name is Sheba and I am a 3 ½ year old female German Shepherd Dog (GSD) living with my foster parents. I came from a breeder and was a mother to many babies, but now I’ve been (ahem) altered. I like long walks (especially in the rain), treats, car rides, other dogs, cats, children, chasing after rabbits and squirrels. My family has never heard me bark, so I am probably not a good alarm system. And, well, I can be a bit skittish, but never have snapped at anyone—so I wouldn’t be a great guard dog, either. But, I’d be a GREAT companion and family member. I find myself sometimes still being shy and will gently nuzzle you for attention and I will sometimes retreat to my own space to decompress—I’m doing that a bit less and less. My foster family loves that I take treats by hand and am already housebroken. Around 10:30PM I crate myself, whether they are ready for bed or not, I am going to BED! In the mornings I still show some anxiety, but after I’m out the door for a walk and to get rid of energy and am fine for the rest of the day. I am just learning some basic commands, but—like any GSD—you have to keep me interested for me to consistently follow through, so I’ll benefit from obedience classes. Games will keep my mind active, my mood up, and maintain my great physique! I’m not a huge snuggler right now, but I appreciate affection and, as I get to know and trust you will become even more affectionate. I need patience, affection, and consistency—and watch me blossom! Feel free to ask my foster family anything about me! They want me to have the right forever home!
