Meet Ruger! He is a grey Newfoundland that is about 17 weeks old. He was petrified of humans when he first arrived but he has blossomed so much in only a few weeks and has overcome that fear with help from the resident dogs in the home. His best friend is a year old Frenchie who has taught him the ropes and he loves to cuddle with the resident Mastiff. He does play rough with the older, small breed dogs so a home without them would be best because he isn't aware of his size. He also lives with three cats and couldn't care less about them. His foster home has middle school aged children and he has done fantastic with them as well as their friends that frequently visit. They are older and younger and have had no issue, and he isn't a jumper. Ruger does well in a vehicle and sits nicely in the passenger seat. He is not housebroken, that is a work in progress. He has learned stairs. It isn't always the prettiest thing, but he is still learning about his big, goofy body. He is also learning about walking on  a leash and is making progress but doesn't yet fully understand that concept. He was surrendered by the breeder due to missing fur. It is basically all in but needs improvement. There were spots that were longer than others so we took him to our groomer and had that trimmed up. We feel that with now living in clean conditions, good food and some coconut oil he will have a healthy coat soon.
