Get ready to meet the silliest little buddy, Newt. Newt is a 23lb, 7 year old French bulldog with a whole lot of quirky character. He’s originally a breeder release, and because of that he has some anxiety related issues to "strangers", unknown men and loud noises (specifically, the fire alarm). He has some congenital hip and knee deformities and a silly sideways tongue; but that doesn’t stop him from running, playing and jumping (even though we’ve been trying to stop that in his older age). He loves his squeaky toys, balls, and requires a fenced in yard.
Newt is very territorial of his home and because of this, he requires a specific adoptive family. He will bark at people and dogs walking by his home and prior to their entry, but once people are formally welcomed into his home, he is very friendly. He has done well with spending time with submissive female dogs and cats when his parents go on vacations but has been living as the only dog for years. He enjoys short walks, trips to the dog park and pet store and will greet everyone he walks past. He’s well behaved at the vet and groomers too.
Newt loves his people the most, craves their attention and hates to share, so because of that he needs a home with no children under 12 years of age. Newt is house trained and crate trained. He needs someone that is experienced and familiar with the breed, who can be his leader and make him feel secure.
