Meet Rascal, a handsome 4-year-old Cairn Terrier Mix with a lot of personality!  At first glance, Rascal can come off as gruff (think ‘Oscar’ from The Odd Couple) but underneath it all is a boy who loves being with his humans and enjoys the company of his 3 small canine siblings. Although Rascal likes to be with his humans when possible, he is fairly low maintenance and doesn’t seem ‘needy’.  He has made great strides in his foster home after coming from a home with little structure or exercise (as well as a new baby and busy work / school schedules).  Rascal now enjoys long walks (although he is still a little fearful) and his crate, both of which were new to him when he came into his foster home.  Rascal has also (begrudgingly) learned the ‘place’ command and to adapt to a new set of rules.  Balanced training and his committed foster home have allowed Rascal to go from a rebellious teen to a mature adult.  He may still grumble a little bit when he’s asked to do something he doesn’t want to do but he’s improving every day and will continue to flourish in a structured home.
Rascal is housebroken, crate trained and knows basic obedience.  He would do best in a home with children over the age of 12. Adopters who are experienced with fear issues in dogs would be a bonus.  We do request follow up training to properly assimilate Rascal into his new home.
