Winston is a 2 year old Terrier mix male, he is a super cute scruff who was found as a stray in the city. He was taken to the shelter where he was not doing well in the loud , hustle and bustle enviornment. We do not know what had happened to this poor baby or how long he had been on the streets but it seems to have left an impression upon him. Winston is a fearful little guy and very insecure, he does better with women than men and larger men he is very wary off. He is the same way with other dogs, he is selective of his dog friends. He is being fostered with his best friend a 7 pound Daschaund whom he loves. We feel he would be most happy as an only dog. Being a Terrier he also likes to chase the family cats so a no cat home please. We are working on some behavioral issues that include heel nipping of "some" strangers as they exit or move about his home. For this reason, please NO children. Often this is caused by someone kicking at a dog or stomping their feet. We can only speculate what horrible encounters he had on the streets. Winston is doing very well with his training and has learned, leave it , he is crate and house trained and walks beautifully on a leash. He is not food motivate but thrives on praise. He loves his stuffed toys and playing fetch , he will always return it to you to throw again and again ! Once he warms up to you and knows you mean him no harm he is complete love bug. He will need continued training and an experienced owner.
