Sophie is a 10 lbs, 3 year old Shih Tzu who is looking for a permanent lap to sit on. Despite having been pulled from a puppy mill swap in OH and being bred by a backyard breeder for her whole life, she really wants to like and be around humans. She takes a bit of time to get comfortable with new people and will urinate out of fear when approached, but once she thinks you are safe she is happy, happy, HAPPY when you pick her up and showers you with kisses. Sofie is working on her potty training and has done very well with going outside or using a pee pad. She does like to chew but will stop when told in a firm voice. She walks well on a leash, will quietly rest when placed in a crate or a restricted area, and is slowly learning how to use the stairs and understanding how to enjoy the life of a dog of leisure. Because of her size and her anxious nature, Sophie would be better with calm older children.
