Meet Pearl the poodle mix girl!  This lovely gal landed in a shelter in Kentucky after a mill bust.  She came to us with a few of her former "Mill Mates", so we were expecting the worst. We're glad to say we've been pleasantly surprised by these Mill babies! Pearl is approximately 5 years old, and is so sweet.  She was very shy upon arrival, but has gotten very cuddly and trusting with her foster parents in just a few days.  Amazingly, she's had no accidents in the home!  We're reluctant to say she's fully housebroken, but she just might be.  She had a full dental done during her spay surgery.  Her jaw was on the verge of breaking before the shelter vet took care of her.  Because of the severity of her dental disease, she will need a soft diet.  She is crate trained and enjoys the safe haven that crates often provide. Pearl was shaved right down at the shelter due to matting and dirt, etc. so we can't wait to watch her blossom as her coat comes back in time for the cold weather. She gets along fine with other dogs, but we've not subjected her to children yet. For now we've marked her for children 12 and older. We'll be sure to update her profile as we can, but so far, so good for Miss Pearl!  We're so happy to have her safe in a foster home and out of that wretched mill!
