Rosie is a 3 year old (surrendered as a Maltese) but we believe is a malti-poo.
She is on medical hold right now for a double ear infection and some fear issues which
we are working on with her. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines and otherwise in good health.
She had apparantly lived with a woman with a cane and for whatever reason had become very fearful of it.
She was then rehomed to a man who walked with double canes and was so fearful in that home they rehomed
her again because they felt it was in her best interest.  Her third home loved her very much but their other dog has such severe health issues she was unable to care for both so she surrendered Rosey so she can find the home she deserves.  Her biggest fears are being picked up and stairs.  She cowers down and sometimes backs away when you want to pick her up and once in your arms appears scared to death and just waits for you to put her back down. She is timid with new people but does warm up fairly quickly if you sit down and wait for her to come to you.  She likes to be pet and will sit down next to you but not on your lap. For as much as she hates being picked up she will twirl and whine for you to pick her up if you are sitting on the couch or sleeping in bed because she wants to be up there with you. She is a very happy girl, tail is always wagging and follows us everywhere.  She really loves to be with her people.  She is housebroken.  She is being fostered with 5 other dogs of all sizes and 2 cats and has not had a problem with anyone. I believe Rosey just needs time and patience and someone to just love her to death.  She is a sweet girl and doesn't have a mean bone in her little body.  She will need regular grooming, daily brushing from her adopter and professional grooming probably every 6-8 weeks as her coat can get easily matted. Rosey will be ready for adoption sometime in April but you are welcome to apply for her now and we can keep you updated on her needs and her progress.
