Hola Dora!  (She really is an explorer too.)  Dora & a couple of her pals came to us all the way from San Juan, Puerto Rico.  She's whats known as a "Sato" which unfortunately is Puerto Rican slang for "stray mutt".  There are estimated to be over 100,000 satos roaming the streets & beaches of Puerto Rico. They are treated horribly.  An amazing gal who recently created "Buffalo Sato Rescue Network" reached out to us for help, and we couldn't refuse.

So, more about Dora.  This spunky gal was the leader of the pack when she got off her long flight.  She was the first to come out of the crate to meet everyone and check out the airport baggage claim area, hence the nickname "Dora the Explorer".  She is being fostered with her BFF "Frankie Blue Eyes" , another Sato who could be her twin apart from his eye color.  She loves to play with him, and any other dogs nearby (even big ones!).  Toys make her day as she loves to chew & play tug of war.  She's been fantastic around young children as well.  She has not been exposed to cats, but pups raised around kitties don't usually have an issue with them.  She is working hard on her potty training.  Her foster mom tells us she's very smart and catching on quickly.

We have absolutely no clue what breeds she may be, but her colors appear hound like, and another volunteer thinks she resembles a dachsund.  Satos typically max out between 30 & 35 pounds, but there are no guarantees to what her full grown size will be.  She is too young to be spayed right now, but is up to date on all required vaccines.

Please remember when considering adopting a puppy that it can be at least a 10 to 15 year commitment, and training pups is no easy task.  It takes a lot of hard work, persistence and patience mixed in with some sleepless nights, cleaning up accidents and losing a few valued items or shoes that got left in a puppy's reach.  But, there's also a lifetime of love, laughter, & loyalty waiting for you every time you walk in your door.  Serious Applications welcome any time.
