Star loves all people and all animals. He gets very excited and anxious around cats because he hasn't been around many at length, but is friendly and happy with them. Despite this, due to lack of extensive exposure, he may do best in a cat free home. He also loves to be around other dogs, but has become fearful at times with big dogs as he's gotten older, unless they are very timid and gentle towards him. Star really thrives around other nice small and medium sized dogs.  He adores the interaction and play time.

Star only barks or "talks" when excited, like when he's encouraged to be really playful, when a stranger comes to the door like the UPS man, or at fireworks. He is completely non aggressive. Star loves children and benefits from the interaction but would be best placed in home without toddlers because he becomes anxious by their sometimes rough poking ways. He is a good candidate for senior to senior or a single active adult who likes to take walks and have a constant loving lap dog companion who is aging.

As Star is getting older, he is developing skin tags. His owner must be careful when grooming him and notify the groomer prior. He also has a few benign tumors under his skin that can cause him some discomfort and yelping if he is massaged too hard. The larger ones have recently been surgically removed. Otherwise they are of no issue at all. He is starting to have occasional trouble jumping up on furniture or into the car. Just slower and less coordinated due to age. Star is like a puppy and in excellent health otherwise other than these basic aging & personality issues characteristic of a bichon.
