Sandy was surrendered to us by her owner as his health no longer permitted him to provide the care he knew she needed and deserved. She was well loved by her owner but due to his health, proper care was falling behind for this sweet girl.
As a pup she was attacked and bitten on the back end and leg by a large dog and now is afraid of them. Due to her injuries from that attack, she does not like her tail or hind area touched. We will have this checked at the vets to assure there is no medical issue.
Sandy is a very submissive loyal girl who bonds quickly to her person and will be your shadow. Since her surrender to rescue, she is a little insecure of her new life so she has developed some resource guarding behaviors. Her very experienced foster mom is working with her every day to resolve these issues. It will be at least a few weeks of persistent training before she will be available for adoption. Applications are welcome any time, but please be patient while Sandy learns to be the good girl we know she is.
