"Little Foot" is  3 years old per vet records and 12 lbs.  He looks to be a doxie mix with doxie as the predominant breed. He is a handsome handsome boy.  His coat is wiry though not soft like you would think, almost terrier like.  We call him "Romeo" because unilike his dominant brother , he is a shy lover.  Littlefoot was surrendered to a shelter in the south with 5 other members of his former pack due to divorce.  Its no surprise that he's found the experience of being in a scary shelter, away from his pack & former "mom & dad", and then a long transport to a new foster home terrifying.  A very special person or family will be needed to guide this boy back to the good life, and teach him how to be free from fear.

Foster mom says:

Romeo is very shy.  He is afraid of pretty much everything and everybody.  He looks to you for everything as he has no self esteem at all.   A lot of patience will be needed in building his confidence back up. He was reported as a runner from the people who surrendered him and in fact did escape a fence the first day  in his foster home, so he will need a very secure fenced area and never be left outside alone.  He loves to be held and will hide his head in foster mom's neck to strangers when they approach or try to talk to him.  We are attempting leash training with him as well but he is struggling as he just wants to be carried everywhere.  He is good with other dogs, he will avoid any and all confrontation.  He does bark at and chase the cats/kittens but does not harm them. He is housebroken, and crate trained although outside he does take a bit longer then the others to be able to relax and go but he will go. Due to his fear, we do not recommend ANY kids for him.  Unlike his brother though, Romeo can be bribed with treats by my boys and strangers for affection but it does take a bit of time for him to warm up to you.  He is such a lover, he loves to snuggle in bed.  You will find him on his back every opportunity he gets for a belly rub and sometimes if you rub it long enough he will fall asleep and start snoring. He likes to play ball and will run after it but does not understand the concept of bringing it back YET...we are working on it.

We will update his page as he progresses.  Adoption applications are always welcome.
