Meet Zeus, who earned this name because he just knows he is mighty!!   Heis a doxie/chihuahua mix and the chihuahua is more dominant with him. The vet papers have him listed at 3 yrs old and he weighs about 10 pounds. He came to us with Littlefoot after being surrendered to a shelter in the south with 5 of his pack members.

He is great with other dogs after the initial meet and greet in which he can be a little growly ,especially with larger "in your face" dogs.  He will chase and bark at cats/kittens but does not harm them.  He is housebroken and crate trained, but accidents can always happen, especially in new situations.   Zeus is a bit of a nipper, and very possessive of "his person"  so we do not think he will tolerate small kids.  Zeus can also be fearful of men, especially if he isn't being held by his foster mom.

He loves to play with socks and loves tug of war with any material toys.  He takes treats very gentle and he loves to be held, if you want a lap dog Zeus is your dog.  He flips over quite quickly for a belly rub and gives tons of kisses. He is a snuggler in bed and sometimes goes under the covers to sleep.  He is quite the watch dog, he doesn't miss a trick!!  He is working really hard to walk on a leash as he loves to go everywhere with foster mom.  He likes to be a dominant dog. He is a small dog with a big personality for sure.

***Update***:  Zeus is making a lot of progress in his foster home.  He is learning to trust people more and more and is just such a little lover with his foster family! He is still fearful with new people but is warming up quicker and is actually taking initiative to introduce himself at times!  He loves to go for rides in the car, walks and swimming in the pool!  You will catch Zeus floating in the pool with his foster mom most days relaxing as he loves to be wherever she is, even if its on a raft!  He is the most loyal loving dog she's ever met....we fear if someone doesn't adopt him soon she will be unable to part with this boy :)
