Niko may be a older boy in numbers but he sure is not in body or soul ! If you are looking for a very well mannered, super sweet companion who has the gentlest of natures, this gentleman is the perfect match.

Niko came to us because his family could not afford a very expensive surgery for bladder stones, and he was becoming incontinent, so they were going to put him down.  His wonderful vet reached out for help knowing it was no where near this boy's time.

He has had his stones removed and is on a special diet as well as treats so no people food  or store bought goodies for him. Niko does not mind his food limitations at all and eats his food and special biscuits like they were steaks. The incontinence has also resolved. However, accidents can happen in new situations and as dogs age.

For a 12 year old boy he loves to go for walks and is very excited to go, so a harness is best for him.  He loves to play and follow wherever you go. Niko is not a barker in the house and if he needs correction (which is hardly ever) he takes it very seriously and stops immediately what he was doing.  He is dog and cat friendly and we think he  would be fine as well with children over 5 who would respect his size and age and be gentle.

We cannot say enough about this fellow! He is a great little guy and we love him to pieces!
