Southern Sophie has moved North to the good life. One of our volunteers picked her up from a humane society in Mississippi. When she came in she was very matted and covered in ticks, but she cleaned right up and will be having a spa day in the near future.  She doesn't bark (the only time we've heard her bark at all was when she was super excited walking up to the dog park), she is house broken, she walks great on a leash, but she will dart off if she sees a rabbit.  She knows how to sit on command and doesn't really play much with toys though she does love treats. 

 

She gets along fine with small dogs and likes to play with them but doesn't really know how she just sort of bats at them like a cat, and she's fine with big dogs if they are laid back.  She will growl if a big dog is aggressive towards her or if too many big dogs are trying to smell her all at once as she gets overwhelmed.   She's the most attention loving dog we've ever met, she just wants to cuddle and be loved on and petted.  She's very submissive, very sweet, very loyal dog. She's got a corgi like body, long with short little legs, the coat of a sheltie and the face and temperment of a cocker spaniel, so we're not sure what exactly she is. 

 

Sophie is being fostered in the Buffalo area and will be visiting often at our adoption center and local events.  Stop in and meet this girl and experience her southern charm for yourself.  Adoption applications welcome!
