Layla was surrendered to a kill shelter at 8 weeks old. Her owners stated they were having a baby and couldn't keep her, but to us, it sounds like Layla was an unwanted Christmas gift.
We immediately offered to step up and help Layla find a real forever home. Layla is a boxer mix puppy. We're not certain of her mix, but her ears are on the longer side, so our guess would be that there is a little hound in this girl. Layla is currently in a foster home with other dogs, she's fine with cats and children too! Layla is looking for a forever home and family to grow up with. Please understand that Layla is a puppy and while her foster parents are starting her training, her forever family must continue with her training so that she grows up to be a well behaved and socialized girl.
Layla is available for adoption now, so if you'd like to make her the newest member of your family, please submit your adoption application today!
**UPDATE FROM LAYLA'S FOSTER**
Layla is a perfect combination of energy with calm. She loves to play and run around, then will curl up quietly with a toy and play or fall asleep.
She loves nothing more than to be close to you. It doesn't matter if it is on your lap, on the sofa, or cuddled up in bed.
She is doing very well with her house training in a very short time. She generally will eliminate outside, but is also learning to use puppy pads in emergencies.
Layla is a love bug who is going to be a big girl, so we are working hard on her play and house manners. She seems to be a submissive girl who is willing to please and will make the perfect addition to the right home.
