Baxter is a sweet corgi/Chihuahua mix who was abandoned in the rain beside a dumpster down south. It was speculated that he and his friend had been dumped by an area breeder, but we don’t know for sure.

Baxter was transported to our rescue just a few days later. Upon examination, our veterinarian noticed that Baxter’s jaw was off and in fact, broken. He attempted to repair it during his neuter surgery, but it seems Baxter had other plans in mind. A day later, Baxter managed to wiggle the wire out of his jaw. His foster mom rushed him back to the vet and the doctor decided that this break would have to heal on it’s own with little further intervention. It will take about 4 weeks or so for him to finish healing. He is in a foster home and doing very well. He is a friendly little boy, who can be silly at times. He bonds very closely to other small dogs. There are larger dogs in his foster home and Baxter is okay with them, but does prefer friends that are about his size.

Baxter is a young, sweet boy with many wonderful years ahead of him. If you’d like to make him a part of your family, please submit your adoption application today!
