Phoebe was minutes away from being a statistic in our shelter system. When a call came in about another dog, we were informed that Phoebe's put to sleep day was that day and that she could be sent out with the other dog and spared from death.
So she was! Phoebe mad a very long trip from Georgia to New York thanks to some amazing volunteers! Phoebe was literally terrified when she arrived. She entered one of our foster homes, and after a few days she started feeling safe and blossomed! Phoebe is a good girl! She's housebroken and will ask to go out when she needs to. She's a lovey dovey and just adorable! She walks great on the harness and even knows a few tricks!
Phoebe is a rat terrier, and that is a breed that comes with some energy and lots of personality. She doesn't care much for dogs that are larger than she is and she'll certainly give a cat some grief. We think she'd do best in a kitty free home and one with dogs her size, but no larger. She certainly would flourish as the only pet as well.
Phoebe has really gotten lucky with her rescue, now lets make her the luckiest girl around and find her a forever home! If you'd like to adopt Phoebe, please submit your adoption application today!!
