Please meet our debonair senior boy, Hershey! This tiny little man landed in a kill shelter and to ensure his safety, he came to our rescue.

Hershey is a blessing! His foster family just loves him. He’s about 7 lbs and just a peanut of a guy with tons of personality! Hershey is 9 years old, but you’d never know it. He’s in good shape, active, playful, goofy and loving. He’s the best of both worlds; always happy to play tug of war with a plush toy and more than happy to snuggle up on the couch with you in the evening. He walks well on the leash and is housebroken. He is very trustworthy in the house so we don’t have a need to crate him. While you’re away from home, he will be napping. He is perfect with other dogs of all sizes and cats too.

Hershey loves sunbathing in the backyard. If it’s a sunny morning, you’ll need to do some convincing to get him out of the sun and back in the house. When he’s in the house, you can count on him to find a place where the sun shines in. He likes riding in the car and is a great road dog. He greets strangers with kisses. He has a silly little bark; not high pitch, just a gruff, low bark which makes us all laugh. He likes wearing sweaters and sleeping under the blankets too. He’d be happy to sleep with his person at night, but settles for a nearby dog bed in his foster home.

Hershey is available through out senior for senior program. He would be a great senior companion, but would also do well in most other situations too! If you’d like to adopt Hershey, please complete your adoption application today!
