Please meet Jimmy. This poor boy has gone through a whirlwind of changes the last few weeks. He came into a high kill facility in Georgia and was sentenced to death. We were contacted and we said we'd take him sight unseen. All we'd seen of Jimmy at that point was a very frightened chihuahua snarling inside a crate filled with shredded paper.

Someone saw through his fear and they were right. Jimmy made the long trip to New York and was very afraid. He didn't know if the hand coming towards him was a kind one or not. After a few days in his foster home, Jimmy has begun to settle and we're finally getting to know the sweetheart that he is.

Jimmy is friendly with dogs of all sizes though he has not yet tried to play with the others. He doesn't mind cats and is rather uninterested in them. He is crate trained but would much rather sleep in bed with you. We're working on his housebreaking and so far, he's doing very, very well. This little guy would love to have a fenced in yard, but he does walk well on the leash and would be okay with a few daily walks. Jimmy is a bit nervous with new people, but he is coming along. At first he would panic when we tried to leash him or adjust his collar but he is now very tolerant. He is a dog that is going to need a very patient, kind owner who will take time to work through his fears and we can assure you he will become man's best friend.
