Tank was seized in an animal cruelty case in Canisteo, New York in January of 2012. In the only place that he knew of as 'home', he was confined to a crate amidst several inches of feces and urine. We're unsure of how he gained the attention of the DCO (Dog Control Officer), but we're sure glad he did. His rescuers had to make their way through complete filth (I'll spare you the nauseating details) to reach his crate. They brought his crate outside, dumped the excess urine out and freed Tank. Tank then spent the next eight months living in a kennel at the home of the DCO.

After a bath, a manicure and flea treatment, Tank now lives with three foster pug siblings and has access to a large, fenced-in back yard in which he loves to explore. Tank struggled to breathe- his little pug face was just too tight knit and he had an elongated soft palate. He has now had surgery to open his airways to help him breathe better and is doing great. We're looking for the perfect forever home for Tank, so if you'd like to adopt him, please complete your adoption application today!!
