Penny is a beautiful 4 year old yorkshire terrier who found herself in a kill shelter in Kentucky. We had to help this beautiful little lady find the forever home of her dreams.
Penny has quickly settled into her foster home and loves her foster mom and dad to bits. She is in a home with larger dogs and cats. She gets along well with the other dogs, but does chase the cats. She stops when corrected. It seems that Penny has been corrected in a not-so-nice fashion before, so she wil need a family who will use positive reinforcement and very gentle correction when teaching Penny. She will be further child tested this week but seems to be good with children. She is underweight at 8 lbs but won't surpass 10-11 lbs at a healthy weight. Due to her small size, a home with older children might be best for Pennys safety. Penny's foster mom has found that she startles easily when sleeping. This may decrease as she further settles into her foster home. Penny is also a door dasher! Even though her foster mom is working on this, Penny would do best in a home with a fenced in yard and a home with double doors or a family who will keep her safety in mind and be very cautious when opening doors to the outside.
We know this little princess won't be in rescue long. If you'd like to adopt Penny, please submit your adoption application today!
