Katie was turned into a high kill shelter because she chased chickens in her previous home. Her write up at the shelter was pathetic. It read “3 year old female, chases chickens, deformed head.” That just did her no justice and we were not going to let this baby slip through the cracks.

Katie is so much more than that. She's gorgeous- a sturdy 25lb girl with flashy white feet and chest and a sleek black and sable coat. She walks beautifully on the leash, is housebroken and would like nothing more than to spend her days with her person. Katie might sneak a bite off your plate when you're not looking, but that's the worst of it.

Katie is a mild lady. She is not overly active or playful. She would thrive in a home with a laid back couple or single person. She is not cut out for a home with children- they are just not her speed. Teenagers would be fine. Katie is being fostered in a home with another dog and does okay with others, but doesn't want to be pestered. She would do fine with another laid back dog, but certainly wouldn't enjoy the company of a pushy or playful puppy.

Yes, Katie has a slight head deformity. We barely notice it- as it has no impact on her. She's just not perfectly symmetrical, but who really is? Katie is ready for a forever home- a place with a warm bed, good food, a snuggle buddy and lots of love. If you have what Katie needs, please submit an adoption application today!
