Meet Nikkel. This sweet bichon boy came to our rescue after the unfortunate passing of his dad. He’s been very much loved his whole life and we’ve been so impressed by his demeanor as he’s gone through so many changes over the past months.

 What we do know is that this senior boy is so deserving of a forever home for his golden years. It’s hard for us to believe Nikkel is 13 years old, but he is. He still very much enjoys going for walks and a good petting. Nikkel is deaf, however, that doesn’t put much of a damper on his life. He’s happy to lean up against you for a good petting, likes riding in the car and loves taking naps on the couch. Nikkel is great with other dogs. He isn’t really into playing at his age, but certainly doesn’t mind the company of another dog or two. He’s pretty much housebroken and crate trained. He might piddle here and there. He has had some trouble with hot spots over the years, but is doing great now. (Hot spots are common in the breed)

Nikkel is looking for his retirement home. We think he’d do just fine with teenage children, but young children might be too much for this good old boy. He is friendly to all and will graciously greet children when visiting or on walks. He barks here and there, when he’s perched at the window but isn’t a yappy boy.
