Ivy is a 1-2 year old Chihuahua Mix. She's a long-legged girl so we think she might be mixed with Italian Greyhound. Ivy came to us from a kill shelter in Virginia.

She is a very sweet girl. Her foster mom named her I've because she really grows on you and loves to cling close to your side. She is definitely a velcro dog and a great companion. Ivy gets along well with other dogs and socializes well with the others in her foster home. She is very affectionate towards people. Ivy is pretty much housebroken. After just a couple weeks in her foster home, she's learned to go to the door when she needs to go to the bathroom. She doesn't really care for the cold, so sometimes she does need a little encouragement to go out after the cold air hits her. The only time she has accidents is when her foster mom is away at work or sometimes overnight. Crate training will help solidify her potty training.

Ivy arrived underweight and has been bulking up slowly. She is a bit of a picky eater and prefers soft food. Eating just soft food is no good for a dog's teeth so her foster mom has been mixing some hard kibble in. She also takes her time when eating. She is very gentle and quiet. She does bark, but not very often. She seems to be a sensitive girl who doesn't know what to make of toys yet but they are available to her if she wanted to play with them. Her foster mom says she is an easy girl to care for who doesn't require much- just some good food, a little exercise and lots of love. She has been a quick learner thus far and is a good listener as well.

Ivy will be a wonderful dog for the right family! If you're interested in adopting Ivy, please submit your adoption application today!
