1/18/2012: Paisley has been adopted!!

Paisley will be turing 3 years old in just a few days. She came to BP&SBR after her owners surrendered her to a kill shelter. They said she was not good with their young children.

Paisley is a sweet pug girl who loves to love. She shares the typical laid back pug attitude. She's been enjoying a grain-free diet in hopes that it will help her floppy pug ears. When she's not napping next to you on the couch, she's eager to roll over on her back for a good belly rub, and happily greets you with pug kisses on your arrival home. When she's wearing a pretty girl harness, she's good on a leash and enjoys long walks. Paisley is familiar with the word 'outside' and loves to spend time in the fenced in back yard. She seems to enjoy bath time and is tolerant of a good manicure/pedicure. Although hesitant at first, she is getting the hang of sleeping in her crate at night. With a little more time and positive reinforcement, I have no doubt that she will be fully housebroken. In a few short days, she has brought a lot of joy into her foster home and looks forward to doing the same for her forever family.

Paisleys forever home must be patient and loving. She arrived a bit chubby ( ::gasp:: NO pug wants to hear that word!) and with a controlled diet and regular exercise, she should be fit and trim in no time. She also arrived with very yucky irritated ears. After a few days of proper ear cleaning, they are looking much better. Her new family must make ear and wrinkle cleaning part of their routine to help prevent future issues. Paisley gets along with other dogs most of the time but she doesn't like sharing her food or treats with other dogs. She doesn't mind people in and around her food bowl, but due to her dislike towards other dogs at mealtime, we think she would be best as an only dog.  Although we have seen no evidence that Paisley would be anything less than sweet towards children, we will not place her in a home with children under the age of 12.  This little lady has a lot to offer and is ready for a home with plentiful belly rubs, rawhide chews, and squeaky loofah dogs.
