Alexander has been in our rescue for quite some time. He’s a phenomenal little dog who is very deserving of a forever home.

Alex was originally found injured in Kentucky. It seemed that he’d been hit by a car, leaving his back end paralyzed. By dragging his body along, he’d done pretty significant damage and is left with only one back toe. However, Alex is a fighter and has made the best of his new life.

Alexander now has a wheelchair. He uses that to go for walks and sometimes around the house. One would be shocked to see how well Alexander gets around. He loves the things that all dogs like: walks, car rides, treats and bones. He gets along well with other dogs, even larger dogs as long as they are respectful of his size. He will put a big dog in line when needed, but since he’s not even 10 lbs, we make sure he doesn’t get too bossy with the bigger dogs. He is okay with older children, but is nervous with small children.

Alex does wear diapers, as he leaks urine and doesn’t have the ability to hold his feces long. He wears baby diapers customized with a hold for his tail. Yes, it’s very much like having a furry baby, but he’s worth the extra work. He loves his beds and getting cozy in his blankets at night. He also gives kisses and is a joyful little companion who is looking to be the apple of someone’s eye forever.
