Update 8/12/11: Candy has certainly settled into her foster home! This girl is stunning! She has made friends with all the other dogs and is still testing the waters with the resident cat. She tries to chase him. We're pretty sure that if she could move those long legs fast enough to catch him, that he'd give her a swat and she'd never try that again. She is a very mild and calm girl. Though she enjoys playing with the other dogs, she is a bit hesitant with people. She will tolerate all handling, but needs a little help with her recall. Her foster mom is working hard to teach her to come when she is called. Much of her day in her foster home is spent playing with toys (or the occassional sneaker), the other dogs and sunbathing on the deck!
Candy is doing well with her housebreaking but it is all very new to her. She has access to the backyard almost all the time in her foster home which has been a huge help but she is going to need futher reinforcement of good potty habits in her forever home. She is 100% sweet, but due to Candy's size and her shy temperament, we'd prefer she finds a home with children 8+.
Original Story: Sweet, not-so-little Candy has no idea why her family left her behind at the shelter. Her paperwork says that her owners felt they had too many pets to care for. She is now in rescue and settling into her foster home. She has been nothing but sweet and gentle and we will update her story as we get to know this pup better!
