UPDATE 7/25/11 We are happy to report that Miss Fancy can bark, though its quite infrequent! The vet noticed her epiglottis appeared to be surgically shortened so it may have been a failed attempt at debarking her! We've added some new pictures of our pretty girl for you to check out. We feel that Miss Fancy may be a bit older than 2 years so she is going to take a trip to our vet to get a second opinion our her age as well as check out her teeth. She has a broken incisor and her top teeth are ground down in a way we've never seen. She has clearly had a less than wonderful life before now. What we love most about Miss Fancy is that she is the perfect companion. She is perfectly content sitting beside someone being pet and loved. She is happy to go for a walk as well and would surely be the kind of dog to happily greet her person at the door to welcome them home even if they have only been gone for 20 minutes. She is a lover- and true best friend material.
Miss Fancy is just that- A Fancy Girl! She was found as a stray and taken to an overcrowded shelter. Soon after, she joined our rescue where she can be pampered until her forever home is found!
Miss Fancy makes a great first impression. She stood on her back legs and danced around for us! Miss Fancy is a gentle girl, but many signs indicate that she has lived much less than the life of luxury before. The vet that spayed her believed that someone surgically debarked her. This sounds true; she has yet to make a peep. She has some hairloss on her rump due to a long time flea infestation. She has been treated and her hair will come back with time.
Miss Fancy walks well on a leash and loves to put her paws on your lap and relax while she is being pet. She is friendly with other dogs and would likely be fine with cats too. We think that our sweet laid back Miss Fancy would do better with older children that are not as busy as young children may be. It is certainly time for this beautiful girl to live the good life!
