Little Pete is a 2 year old Toy Poodle who came into our rescue in May with his siblings Velvet & Forrest. He was surrendered by a breeder to an overcrowded shelter and soon after, he joined our rescue.

Pete is a very frightened little dog. He is shy of 10 lbs and is just not used to being a real dog, interacting with people or living in a home. Pete has made some improvements and will now let his foster family pick him up, but it is going to be quite a long road for little Pete. We will require that Pete goes to a home with another well socialized dog. He would benefit from having the companionship of another dog and we hope that he would emulate some positive behaviors. Pete is also going to need a home with no children. He would do best in a laid back, patient environment with someone committed to gently encouraging him along.

Pete is certainly not your normal dog. Breeding dogs don't live a normal life. He has been neglected, denied the normal things like affection, toys, interaction and food. His previous relationships with humans were never a positive thing and for that reason, he doesn't trust anyone right away. It will take a very patient, loving, person to adopt Pete.
