Bow Wow! My name is Scruffy and I am a yorkie mix. About 6 weeks ago I was lost, hit by a car and left on the side of the road to die. As I lay there praying for someone to stop and help; only one family did. This family rushed me to their vet and had everything done to make sure I wasn't suffering. They treated me like one of their own. I spent a week in the hospital unable to use my back legs due to inflammation of my spinal cord. My upper lip had been separated from my gum. The doctor said with a small surgery and some TLC everything would be fine. Well when it came time to do my surgery the doctor had realized that not only had my lip been separated, but my nose as well. This family has done so much for me, and I'm very thankful. It has been a rough couple weeks but all in all, I lost one of my front ‘teef’ due to the stitches needed to fix my lip and I do walk a little funny. Sometimes I get ahead of myself and wipe out, but I am a tough cookie! This family let me stay with them. I had a 1 year old and 2 year old human sibling there and 4 pitbull foster bro’s and a mastiff foster sister. They were all so nice to me.

So now, I am officially a ‘New Yawker’ and they tell me it’s time to find a home of my own. I like kids, I really do. Other dogs are great too. I hear there is a thing called a cat and I’ve never met one of them but I hear that their claws are pretty sharp. I’m not sure that is a good idea since I just had a nose job, but I guess we could check it out. I can sometimes be bashful, but between you and me, if you pull out a cookie, I forget all about being bashful. I like cookies!! Now, back to the important stuff… Many people have told me to stay out of the road. I’m really going to try to listen, but I’d like my new home to have a fenced in yard so I never, ever get lost again. Also, my new family needs to understand that I might never walk “normally.” Well, normal is boring. I’ve got a little pep in my step. It’s like doing the electric slide all the time. No big deal! I get around just fine, but I might need some assistance with stairs and getting up on the couch. But, I’m not really a picky dude.

SO PICK ME! PICK ME! PICK ME! Fill out that adoption application thing ASAP! Thank you!

Signed,

Scruffy
