You’ll love this beefcake! Mya came from an abusive home and ended up in a high kill shelter in Ohio. When our volunteers walked past her cage, she rolled over belly up and at that moment, we knew she was coming with us!

Mya is just 7 months old and roughly 30 lbs. We are certain that she is part Basset Hound due to her stocky, long, low-riding physique and maybe part Plott Hound which would account for her strikingly beautiful brindle markings; but we can’t be sure. What is for sure is that Mya is a tremendous dog!

Mya is fostered with another dog and young children and she does great with both! Mya likes to rough-house so we’d prefer that she goes to a home with other dog(s) close to her size. She might be too much puppy for a Chihuahua or small dog of that nature; though she means well. Mya loves the kids in her foster home. The first thing she did in her foster home was hop up on the couch and shower the 2 year old with kisses. All that could be heard was laughter! Mya shares her food nicely too. She does not mind being pet while eating and if one of the kids come to pet her, she turns to give a kiss and go back to munching her kibble happily. Oh, and we better not forget her love for tummy rubs! Mya will need some further obedience work and there is no substitute for proper supervision but we know that she would be an excellent addition to the right home! Mya is also doing very well with her housebreaking, but does need some further work on her leash training. She tends to pull a bit, which very well may be the hound in her!
