Declan was found as a stray. When his family could not be located, he joined our rescue.
Declan is a boston terrier that is about 5 years old. We know nothing about Declan’s past but its safe to say that he has been picked on by another dog. He was missing all the hair on his ears and had quite a few areas on his legs that were healing as well as a small piece of his ear that is missing. It looks as if Declan had been chewed on by another dog. In the time Declan has been in rescue, he has made tremendous improvements and is now ready to find his forever home! His fur is all back, all of his little bite marks are healed and almost invisible and his personality is as sweet as it can get!!
Declan is great with other dogs. Though he does not really play with them, he does not mind their company. Declan can NOT live in a home with cats. We have tested this time and time again. He is not a fan of them, so if you have cats in your home, this boy is not a good choice. Since we do not know Declan’s past, we will not place him in a home with children. Declan loves all people and enjoys snuggling and tummy rubs! He also likes riding in the car and frequenting the local pet store. He has also shown to enjoy spending weekends at our adoption center. Not because he is in any hurry to leave his foster home, but because at the adoption center there is an endless supply of laps to sit in and faces to kiss! He is a smoocher!! Declan is very agile as well. He can easily clear baby gates in his foster home. With that being said, he can also easily climb fences. He certainly is a smart cookie! Privacy fencing would be a better choice than chain link because Declan can and will climb chain link. He will need to be carefully monitored at all times when not on a leash. He would be a good candidate for agility training, that is for sure!
Declan does have some allergies, which require a special food and baths. It is a simple routine that will keep Declan feeling his best. He is an amazing boy that is just waiting for the right family to come along! Think that’s you? Submit your adoption application today!
