Gino is one of 5 darling pugs surrendered to Buffalo Pug & Small Breed Rescue by their owners. Our hearts ache at the condition of these sweet puggies. It is clear that they have been used for breeding and did not live the life that they should have. With your help, we are going to right the wrong and give Gino and the others their second chance at a normal, healthy life full of love and happiness.

When he came into his foster home, his foster mom reached down to pet him and he immediately cowered down to the floor. It was horrible to see, but his foster mom got down on the floor with him and spent some time loving him at his level. His apprehension vanished and he opened his big heart wide. This little guy is SO ready to be loved!!! When his foster dad came home from work, he waited at the baby gate with his curly tail flinging from side to side. He again flinched and dropped to the floor, but once he realized that the hand coming towards him was a gentle hand, he stood right back up and soaked up all the affection he could get. He spent the rest of the night curled up with his foster parents and his fur brothers and sisters.

He took his first trip to petsmart and got a brand new harness. He is very skinny, so he has been wearing a sweater to stay warm. He had intestinal parasites when he came into rescue and that problem has been resolved. He is eating a high quality dry food with a little canned food mixed in to make it more palatable. Gino is well on his way to being at a healthy weight! He has obviously not been socialized like the average dog. He is hesitant with new people but always wonderful nonetheless. He has never walked on a leash before, so his foster family is trying to teach him. He also needs a little work with his potty manners, but is very receptive to gentle correction. He would be fine in a home with children, other dogs and very likely cats as well.

We are afraid our words can’t really explain how wonderful and gentle Gino is. You might want to stop by our adoption center and see for yourself! He deserves the best. He so desperately wants to be loved, and his foster family is doing just that right now. But, he needs a forever home with a family that is going to cherish him. There are definitely angels among us, and Gino is one of them. If you’d like to give Gino the forever home of his dreams, please submit your adoption application today!

Gino is being fostered in Rochester.
