Ty has spent his entire life being used for breeding. When they decided to downsize, he was surrendered to a high kill shelter and Buffalo Pugs offered to help this little guy out.

His description at the shelter said, “poorly cared for mill dog” and that was absolutely true. He was a bit on the skinny side and the pads of his feet were scabbed and irritated. After a few weeks in rescue, Ty has really settled into his foster home. He has made huge strides. He was a little detached and nervous at first but has spread his wings and is such a social little guy. He frequents everyone’s laps and will cling tightly to you when you are holding him. His little nub of a tail is always bouncing from side to side! He loves treats and is gaining weight, although he is a bit of a picky eater.

He is making such big improvements on all fronts. He loves his foster family and is great with his foster fur brother. We think he would do fine in a home with another well-mannered dog! He is a very lean boy and sort of on the delicate side, so we’d love to find him a home with a larger, calm dog or a dog that is similar to his size. He is good with children, but again, needs to be handled gently so children 12+ would be best!

Ty is doing outstanding with his house training! He knows to go outside when he is taken out and in the interim he knows to use the puppy pads that are put out for him. He always goes to the puppy pad when he has to go, although he has not quite figured out that he is a boy so he sometimes misses by mere inches. We think it’s outstanding that he has made so many improvements in such a short time! But, he will need a family that is willing to further his training.

We see something truly amazing in Ty. He is so forgiving for his past and ready to be someone’s forever friend. Could that be you?
