Hello!! My name is Bixby. I am a 10 month old energetic little guy. I was found wandering the streets in Bowling Green, KY. And then brought to Rochester, NY by a wonderful group of people that thought I was worth saving. I have been well accepted into my foster home and now have 2 human foster brothers (ages 11 and 9) and I LOVE to play and snuggle with them. I also have 2 canine foster siblings, a senior lab (12yrs old) and a laid back pug (5yrs old). I have respected the dog’s space, as they are not into rough housing and I understand that. Even so, they do let me snuggle! My neighbors on the other hand, have a young golden retriever who does like to play rough. We had a great time tumbling around in the front yard!!

I am VERY interested in squirrels and small rodent-like creatures and I like to run after them. I am VERY quick, and if my owner is not paying attention, I might run right into the road! I do come when "TREAT!" is called by my foster mom. My foster mom thinks that I am a good listener and that I understand "No." I am still learning about peeing in the house. I still mark my area (a few times), but I have only pooped outside. I am really smart and I'm trying really hard. I have to tell you, I hate the crate!! I will bark to let you know how miserable I am in there!! So, I probably should not live in an apartment. I would much rather sit on the couch with you or sleep in your bed at night. My foster parents allow me and my foster sister to sleep with them. I am very quiet at night and I'm a great snuggler!

If I got to pick my perfect new home, I would want some kids to play with or even another dog (big or small). It would be really cool if you had both. I need to have a fenced in yard, because I am fast and I like to run. I would also like to have an active family. Humans that like to run, walk or hike would be ideal. I know I can keep up. I may be small, but I have a lot of energy (just to be clear I'm not hyper- active). I defiantly know how to "Chill-Out."

My foster parents had company over for dinner (7 kids and 4 other adults) and I was no problem at all!!! I curled up under the table and fell asleep. I have a feeling if I'm not adopted quickly, I will be adopted by my foster parents...so PLEASE, consider me quickly because I know they already love me! But, I know that my foster parents would like to help save more dogs like me by providing them with the wonderful home and compassion that they have given to me for my time in rescue.
