Oscar was surrendered to find a life full of comforts he never knew existed! He was rescued about 2 years ago from a hunter who no longer needed Oscar so he kept him tied up in the back yard for way too many years. When the man that rescued Oscar went in the yard, Oscar was in snow up to his head and all skin and bones. Apparently, the hunter fed him only when he remembered to go in the back to do so! Then poor Oscar found himself kept in a cold basement for the next year & a half because the rescuer's dog would attack Oscar. Geez Louise, could it get any worse? They did not want Oscar going through another cold winter in the basement and found Buffalo Pugs to help him. He is now being fostered in a warm, loving home with other senior beagles, his choice of beds and a ton of love!!

Saddly, Oscar has had a very unloved and hard life. His new foster Mom then became worried because he was panting and pacing and seemed very uncomfortable. As she examined him she noticed his testicle was very large and swollen so we rushed him to the Vet's to discover he had testicular cancer! He was not neutered as a young dog & this is what typically happens. He has since been neutered and is recuperating nicely. With each passing day Oscar is more and more spunky and is eating as a typical Beagle does gaining his needed weight. Now his life is what it should have been all these years. His foster family heaps loads of love on him to try to make up for lost time and Oscar acts so appreciative. He just loves his new life and is the sweetest little beagle boy with the cutest wagging tail. He gets along well with dogs and cats.
