Dakota is 1 years old and was found as a stray in Georgia. He tested positive for heartworm and was going to be put to sleep, but Dakota was lucky and was saved by a Michigan rescue group who treated Dakota and asked Buffalo Pugs to help with placing him.
Dakota is a very sweet boy. We really are unsure of his breed and think he may be Rottweiler / Manchester mix. Or similar in looks at least. Dakota weighs about 30 lbs. He would do best as an only dog. He is great as far as playing with other dogs but not so good with sharing his bones or food with them. He seems housebroken and very laid back! Dakota is now ready to find a forever home! Dakota is excellent with older children and loves to play ball and would love nothing more then to have a friend to play with. He does however jump up when he gets excited however gets down as soon as you remind him that its not polite to jump on people! He is an extremely well behaved dog! He also learns fast. He knows basic commands like sit, down and come. Dakota will need to be on heartworm prevent for life. This is so he does not pick up heart worm again. It is about 20 to 25 for a 6 month supply of Iver heart. All dogs should be as it is! He will make a WONDERFUL friend for anyone!!!
Dakota is being fostered in Buffalo.
