Gidget's story is a sad one. She was surrendered to a Kentucky shelter because her owners no longer could afford her. When they first got her as a pup, they wanted a dog that had a docked tail... because they were short on the cash and just had to have a docked tail, they decided to tie a rubber band around the base of her tail in the hopes that as she grew it would fall off... talk about rediculous! We have to wonder where people get these crazy ideas... Gidget suffered for almost a whole year with this rubber band constricting the blood to her tail... when she was surrendered to the shelter, they had to amputate it because it was beyond repair. Despite everything, this girl still loves everyone and everything... she is happy as a lark and is just looking for a new trustworthy human companion that will love her even without her tail!
