This is a first and rare placement at BPSBR. Our adoptions usually occur with dogs under 30 lbs, but this girl needed saving and we went the extra mile! Beauty is the name we chose for this amazing Boxer girl who is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside! She has been in her foster home for 4 days now and could not be a better guest - no housebreaking issues, no barking, etc. She is kind and gentle to the other animals in the home and really wants to play with the other dogs. All Beauty wants is love and attention. She will follow her people around and lie quietly at their feet. Outside she shows the typical boxer energy level. She is making use of the large fenced yard for running , playing and showing off that Boxer strut and wiggle. She loves cars rides and greets every stranger as if they are her new best friend.

The shelter estimated her age at about 4 years. Our Veterinarian feels that is about right - or possibly slightly older. She weighed in at 57 pounds but her best weight would probably be around 60 pounds.

Beauty was removed from her former home (along with 12 other dogs) on cruelty/neglect charges. It is obvious by the scars on her body and the condition of her ear flaps that she was severely neglected. Her ear flaps are misshapen from old hematomas (blood blisters) that were never treated. We are treating her for ear mites and she will have surgery on 9/27 to remove a "suspicious lump".

Boxers are strong dogs that require daily exercise and gentle training. If you have enough time and love to make up for the past wrongs, then you may be the right person for Beauty!
