We learned today that Rover has passed over the Rainbow Bridge on August 31, 2010.

We received an update from his forever family:  Rover, we called him Onslo, had a wonderful last years in his forever home with his "wife" Daisy and family. He took 3 walks a day, walking  on the nature trail behind his house at least once a week. He lived near the beach and on hot days looked forward to standing in the water up to his belly. He loved to go camping on our farmland and sleep in a tent. He slept on the couch, lazed in the sunshine on the enclosed summer porch and got treats.

He was never alone, never tied out, never without constant love and attention. We miss him so very much.

Good luck over the Rainbow Bridge Onslo, you will be missed by all !

Rover's Adoption news: Rover (now called Onslo) joined his forever family today. It was a an awesome day for all of us. He now has a wonderful mom and dad, sister and brother, 3 kitty siblings and a very lively niece named Daisy. (a one year old puggie) Onslo made himself right at home as if he knew it was meant to be. When Daisy came over for a visit it was love at first sight! They romped and played and ran and ran. Saying good bye to our "big, little puggie" was a bitter sweet experience. We were sad to leave him but elated that he found such a perfect home. It was a pleasure for my family to meet Onslo's family. They're really special. Congratulations, Onslo and family!

Rover in foster care: Rover is a BIG pug mixed boy! We are not sure what he may be mixed with, but his weight is in the 30's. No matter because he just has more of himself to give. As you can see from the gallery photos of Rover, he just loves to be cuddled and loved on! He is good in the car, housebroken and is good in a crate. Rover also gets along with his dog and cat cohorts and enjoyes roving around as his name indicates. He was originally a stray in New Jersey and was pulled from the pound there and brought to our rescue for placement into a good home. He is gentle and will make someone a very nice companion! If you think Rover is your guy, please fill out an adoption application soon!

Rover has been staying with my family while he waits for a family of his own. What can I say about this sweetheart? He's just a really great dog. He has blended in so well with our routine. It will be difficult for us to say good bye to him. He loves each of us. He likes to go for walks and rides and loves to be outside. We have a pet door which he learned to use right away. Other than a passing sniff at my 2 cats each day he pretty much ignores them. He gets along OK with my dogs too. I do keep them apart while they have a rawhide because one of my dogs will steal his which is a recipe for trouble! He really loves his rawhide bones! Otherwise he is such a perfect gentleman. Rover will make a delightful companion for anyone. He is our gentle giant puggie. I'm positive you'll fall in love with him.
