Hickory is a 3-4 year old Red Heeler /  Beagle mix.  She was pulled from a rural Ohio shelter and found to be pregnant.  Since coming into rescue she has delivered and raised 7 beautiful puppies,  Now it is her turn to find her forever home .

Hickory is house trained and knows how to sit on command; she takes treats very gently from your hand as well.  She loves her humans and is good with children.  She has not been destructive in her foster home and has been left uncrated with great success. She is being foster with small to medium sized dogs as well as cats with no issue. Although she is being fostered with cats, a cat free or dog savvy cat home would be best for her , simply as a preventative measure. Hickory does have some toy possession issues with other dogs but not with people. We are working with her on this and her training on this will need to continue in her new home as well. 

Because of her breed she will require a completely fenced in yard. Hickory loves to chase (and sometime catch) the birds, squirrels and rabbits.  Hickory is learning her leash manners and still need some work as she pulls but it is nothing that cannot be corrected with some more work and reinforcement.
